Overview

The learning community at Our Lady's recognises we all have strengths, and that we learn best through 'real-life experiences' including visits to topic related sites, in-school events and the use of a variety of resources, including ICT.

Our Curriculum meets all the requirements of NC2014 (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/national-curriculum-in-england-primary-curriculum), and is based on a creative and cross curricular approach advocated by Cornerstones (http://www.cornerstoneseducation.co.uk/Curriculum-2014-Summary.aspx).

These topics have been carefully selected to ensure full curriculum coverage.

We support our children through Quality First Teaching (QFT), careful assessment (using the Target Tracker system - http://www.targettracker.org/) and a constant dialogue between children, staff and parents, with our aim being to develop resilient, collaborative and creative thinkers.

As we currently have some mixed age classes, our Curriculum is taught on a two year cycle, with all subject areas having both a Leader & Link Governor.  As a Catholic School, we follow the 'Come & See' RE Curriculum (http://www.comeandseere.co.uk/).

For more information on what we teach and how we teach it, please email our Assistant Head Teacher, Jan Miles - jmiles@olqoh.com
